Hey bloggers!
This is my first task for the Summer learning journey I've missed out on a ton of these activities but I will still get them all out :)
Our task was to learn about taneore and to create a Kowhaiwai pattern using google drawings. One fact I learnt about taneore was that taneore is the personification of shimmering air.
The kowhaiwhai i have created is a very simple design and I'm assuming its supposed to represent waves
To create this I vertically flipped our starter image and then horizontally and repeatedly placed that imageI found this task quite easy
My next step would be to create a more complex kowhaiwhai
Sincerely

Mōrena Shanaya, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey team.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your awesome kowhaiwhai artwork! I really like that your pattern has so many koru - they definitely look like waves, especially with the blue ocean background that you’ve used! It may be simple, but it is very effective!
I think it is great that you have included what you have learned about Tānerore and your creative process for making your artwork. I’m glad to hear that you would push yourself by making a more complex kowhaiwhai pattern and that you didn’t find the activity too hard! If you were to make another one, what would you do differently in order to challenge your creativity?
Well done and I’m so glad to hear that you are going to be participating in more of the Summer Learning Journey activities! I can’t wait to see what you do next!
Ka pai and keep up the great work Shanaya!
Ngā mihi,
Elle (SLJ)
