Kawakawa Balm!

Hey Bloggers !
Today we finished our kawakawa balm boxes and labels,
Here are some photos ---------------------------->
We were learning about Rongoa maori
Our task was to put together our boxes and stick on our
labels to the balm containers.
I learnt
- That the balm was made with kawakawa leaves and that it wasn't made based on the actual town
- That Rongoa actually was used in the old days
- The kawakawa oil can be made quicker in a slow cooker
My next step is to put a flap on the top so that me box can close.
Some interesting facts I learnt were
- Rongoa used to be used to heal gunshots
- Some hospitals are thinking about bringing rongoa to be used alongside modern medicine

For this task we had to Write a Sensory Poem about lockdown
We were Learning to write a Poem using our Senses about Lockdown
I found thinking of what each sense was quite easy but I found putting this into a sentence more tricky .
I think Next time I will add more things about each Sense.

Last term in reading we were looking at myths and legends
We had to read a myth of legend from this site Obans myths and legends
I chose the read the story of why flamingos are pink
Then a made a D.L.O of the story
This story was not real but it was fun to read and create

My highlight for the year

1.I want to learn more so I can make it into university and get on with my life

2.I want to learn more so I will be smart and can answer any question I run in to.

3. I can be smart and I wont be pressured to study anymore.
